Our Regions

OneGoal currently operates in Chicago, Houston, New York, and Massachusetts.  OneGoal recently selected Atlanta as their fifth region, and will be operating by the 2017 school year.

OneGoal has operated in Chicago since our inception in 2007. During the 2012-2013 school year, we are working with more than 50 Program Directors in more than 20 non-selective high schools, enabling us to serve more than 1,200 Fellows in Chicago Public Schools. We encourage you to learn more about our current high school partners, donors, board of directors and staff in Chicago.

2013 marked our initial expansion into a new region. In partnership with Houston school districts, OneGoal has recruited an exceptional founding staff and seven Program Directors, formalized partnerships with seven high schools and recruited over 165 Fellows. These students started the OneGoal program in Fall 2013 as part of the college graduating Class of 2019, and comprise the first-ever Houston-based OneGoal cohorts. We encourage you to learn more about our current high school partnersdonorsboard of directors and staff in Houston.

With the lead partnership of Strategic Grant Partners in Boston, OneGoal has joined a community of service providers in Massachusetts working to improve post-secondary opportunities for young people.  Today, just 48% of low-income students who graduate high school enroll in a 4-year college the following fall, compared to a 70% average across the state.  Moreover, only 14% of students from low-income families graduate from college within 6 years.  OneGoal provides an additional resource in the effort to deliver low-cost, high-impact solutions that increase college completion rates for students most at-risk of not receiving the supports they need to enroll in, persist through, and graduate from college.  Success for OneGoal in any region begins with strong leadership - Patty Diaz-Andrade, founding executive director, leads OneGoal's work in Massachusetts.

New York

One in four New York City high school graduates who enroll in college will drop out by the end of their first year.  Additionally, the percent of the New York City high school class of 2012 who were "college-ready" based on Regents' scoring was 22 percent.  Over 60 percent of CUNY freshman required remeremedial coursework, draining both morale and financial aid dollars.  In the fall of 2015, OneGoal will expand to New York to assist in reversing these trends under the leadership of Executive Director, Nikki Thompson.

"OneGoal is a strategic, outcomes-driven organization that achieves dramatic results with a relatively minimal investment, a combination that is unique in the non-profit space. They hold themselves accountable to stakeholders while changing the life trajectories of the students they serve. I could not be more thrilled they are expanding to Houston."
