MORROW, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As you get to the end of high school there are all kinds of decisions to make about your future.

One group made sure students knew they weren’t alone in the process and that they had options.

“These kids, they really, really truly want to be here,” Anbria Powell, an Atlanta Public Schools educator, said.

Take a high school junior or senior from a Title I school and put them in a room at the OneGoal Student Summit Opportunity Fair and they might just see nothing but possibilities.

“I am just gonna go to this school because they will accept me or I am just going to do this because I don’t know. So I think, when we do bring them to places like this, they are like, ‘Oh, there is a chance for me now. You know?’” said RanDaijah Price, a senior at Mays High School.

The room was filled with juniors and seniors from schools from all over metro Atlanta.

“I feel excellent today. I just came off the stage. It is really good to see a lot of people today, a lot of students. Over 600 and we are pushing out to Atlanta Public Schools. We are all pushing to go to college, and this is exciting to me,” said 18-year-old, Myles Thomas-White.

The students were excited to be a part of this event and to have their classmates there too.

“I see a group of dreamers. I see a group of individuals who have a desire to achieve a goal, regardless of what the goal is whether it is college or career-ready or is it to go straight into the workforce,” said Powell.

Students could meet with representatives from colleges and universities, mentoring groups, companies and trade schools at the event.

“We work really hard to make sure students understand what this program can do for them but honestly, the students bring the engagement and the passion. They’re here because they want to be here and they care about their futures and we are just here to help them along the way,” said Taylor Ramsey with OneGoal Metro Atlanta.
