Salary Range: $76,000 – $84,000 is the hiring salary range (i.e. the range a candidate could be offered to start) for this role.

 

About OneGoal

Despite decades of work and millions of  dollars invested, the degree divide continues to be one of our nation’s most complex and critical injustices, with deep roots in systems of oppression and racism.  Only 22% of students from low-income communities earn a college degree, compared to 67% of their peers from high-income areas. 

COVID-19 further exposed and exacerbated inequity, with communities of color and those in low-income areas impacted at disproportionately high rates. We are looking for individuals to join us in our fight for equity during this extremely critical time.

The Person

 

As the Director of Development, Individual + Corporate Giving, your mission is to work with the New York Development Team to ensure OneGoal- New York creates, refines, and saturates the local philanthropic community with a compelling vision for how OneGoal will work to close the college divide in our lifetime. You will set the vision for and execute on both short- and long-term fundraising strategies that grow the region’s base of individual and corporate donors whose contributions will help us actualize our regional vision.  As such, you forge solid relationships both internally and externally,  pay keen attention to detail, embody our core values, and operate with a strong customer service and teamwork mentality. 

 

Your work will consist of the following: 

  • Development Strategy & Portfolio Management (40%)
    • Set the vision + direction for the team’s individual + corporate fundraising base, including strategies and campaigns for both current and prospective donors, with the goal of bringing in significant new revenue in this funding stream.
    • Leverage strong communication, data, and thoughtful cultivation & stewardship strategies to influence and motivate new and existing individual and corporate supporters.
  • Development Operations (25%)
    • On a regular basis, maintain fidelity of all fundraising data, analyze data and run reports to show progress on donor strategies, and create tools and dashboards to support cultivation and stewardship next steps. 
    • Conduct prospect research and strategy to inform the fundraising pipeline and set up the team for year-on-year revenue growth.
    • Implement efficient systems for tracking donor meetings and lead meeting prep and follow-up for donors in your portfolio and set up your donors as well as support Managing Director of Development (MDD) and Executive Director (ED) with meeting prep and follow-up materials.
  • Engaging Donors Through Events (25%)
    • Lead the vision for and plan and execute smaller events for donors and prospects, including corporate partner engagement opportunities. 
    • Create a longer-term vision for events, including potential larger fundraising events. 
  • Fee-for-Service (5%)
    • Serve as development lead for fee-for-service work; work with the Partnerships team to streamline processes and set up systems for efficiency to ensure fee-for-service revenue is collected. 
  • Special Projects (5%)
    • Work on special projects related to donor communications, board management, and other initiatives to drive the development work of the team forward.

Qualifications:

  • Lived experience of the Fellows we serve (Preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of fundraising experience (Required)
  • Experience managing a portfolio of donors, and supporting solicitors in outreach (Required)
  • Proven ability to analyze, develop, and execute successful stewardship strategies through effective communication with stakeholders (Required)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented approach to development operations (Required)
  • Experience organizing small events, both virtually and in-person (Preferred)
