  • In just 10 years, OneGoal has grown from 32 students in one city to some 13,000 students in six regions.
  • OneGoal’s teacher-led, in-school, three-year college access and success model is game-changing. While nationwide, only 22% of kids in low-income communities earn a postsecondary degree, 81% of OneGoal Fellows (students) enroll in a postsecondary institution and 86% of those who enroll persist one year later.
  • Over the next five years we have set our sights on unprecedented goals: first to attain a 60% graduation rate among Fellows and, second, to develop new delivery models to dramatically grow our reach.

The Person

 

OneGoal is seeking a Director of IT to assist with the day-to-day operations, as well as the development, customization, and maintenance of in-house IT application life-cycles. This individual will support staff members across a variety of contexts to ensure that they have the IT resources and infrastructure necessary to effectively and efficiently get their work accomplished. This person also will work in partnership with the Senior Director of IT to set a long-term strategic vision for technology at OneGoal and deliver on that vision through execution of various strategic IT projects.  

The Director of IT will work to expand in-house solutions and assist in cross-team collaborations; work to integrate other departments’ technology and keep the organization’s technology streamlined. Specific responsibilities include: 

 

  • IT Strategy and Infrastructure Building/Maintenance (60%)
    • Own the lifecycle of some projects and assist with the research and development of others  
    • Maintain the existing infrastructure of certain systems
      • Including system testing, refining, and updating
    • Check backup logs
    • Coordinate with Regional Operation Managers (ROM); set the vision and direction, train and delegate regional assignments for the IT Coordinator
    • Periodically conduct best practice research on IT infrastructure and document solutions to known IT challenges to build institutional knowledge
    • Assist in the development of a multi-­year vision for our IT infrastructure and support execution on strategic projects including systems upgrades, information security policies, disaster recovery plans, new software implementation, etc.
    • Assist with National IT budgeting
    • Manage our email platform and develop systems to increase efficiency
    • Assist in the development and management of robust systems to maintain and update the organization’s IT infrastructure
    • Maintain accurate inventory of all laptops and IT equipment as well as management software licenses
  • Help Desk Support/Manager (40%)
    • Operate an effective and responsive Help Desk by which all staff members get the IT support they need to do their best work everyday
    • Manage tasks and Help Desk assignments
      • Coordinate, prioritize and delegate tickets toward completion
    • Provide Help Desk support for all regions
    • Gather Help Desk metrics
      • Liaise and build relationships with external vendors for various equipment services and other supports in our technology consortium
    • Maintain IT vendor service agreement; leverage vendor expertise on long-term projects or strategy

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • 6+ years of professional experience in an IT environment
  • Experience managing large scale technology projects and deployments
  • IT service experience specifically as a Help Desk Technician and Manager (Strongly Preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and build relationships with external vendors for various equipment services and other supports in our technology consortium
  • General networking and network administration knowledge (routers and wireless access points)
  • Familiarity with Google Apps and Services (Required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows environments (Preferred)
  • Familiarity troubleshooting and configuring Windows 7/10/2016 (Server)
  • Strong knowledge of Office 2013/16
  • Experience with Data Warehouse environment and technology
  • Adept at troubleshooting desktop issues and overall hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with VPN, Microsoft Server/Active Directory/DNS
  • IT/Asset inventory management experience
  • Excellent communications skills; demonstrated experience training Staff on IT protocols and policies; strong documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams
