Salary Range: $68,000-$71,400 is the hiring salary range (i.e. the range a candidate would be offered to start).
A postsecondary education unlocks opportunities and economic mobility not only for students, but entire communities. Yet for millions of underserved students, it remains out of reach: only 22% of students in low-income communities earn a postsecondary degree compared to 67% of students from high-income communities. This is not for lack of ambition or talent, but for lack of opportunity and support. OneGoal’s model, honed over 15 years, delivers a culturally relevant experience that works: 82% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 73% of those persist one year after high school graduation. As OneGoal-Metro Atlanta’s Director of Postsecondary Access your mission is to work strategically and creatively to ensure OneGoal runs an exceptional school-based program.. Through professional development experiences and intentional coaching practices, you will guide and lead a cohort of our teachers to develop key mindsets and activate their many talents to ensure each OneGoal Fellow (student) in their class pursues their greatest postsecondary aspirations.
Your work should result in two primary outcomes: (1) Fellows meet or exceed the college-going milestones associated with your work and (2) external partners, our teachers, Fellows, parents and school-based decision-makers clearly see our program’s value and support our ongoing efforts. This role gives the right person the opportunity to play a direct role in college access work and collaborate alongside systems-level initiatives – Achieve Atlanta, Learn4Life, etc.
You will do this by managing several aspects of our OneGoal program, in partnership with your program team members:
Directly support cohorts of OneGoal classrooms and teachers – 55%
- Leverage coaching and professional development experiences to ensure that OneGoal program directors (teachers) meet or exceed postsecondary access goals and meet critical benchmarks (FAFSA, postsecondary applications, etc.).
- Design and execute powerful professional development experiences in collaboration with the Program team for our OneGoal teachers.
- Build trusting relationships with teachers and leverage training, observations, and 1:1 coaching to support your portfolio of teachers in customizing the OneGoal experience of their Fellows to fit their school’s context.
Support ongoing curriculum modifications, pilot projects and programmatic partnership development – 30%
- Ensuring our national, culturally responsive curriculum is adapted to the needs of our classrooms and loaded onto our online learning system (Canvas).
- Partner with the Managing Director of Program on core program and advisory model to deliver strong program results and track key indicators of success in collaboration with regional and national program teams.
- Review program curriculum and tools for classroom-based part of the program, work collaboratively with other team members to provide feedback and seek opportunities to modify to fit local postsecondary landscape and opportunities.
- Support partnerships with local postsecondary and workforce partners that can enrich our curriculum, program experiences and/or offer opportunities for our students and teachers.
Co-design and lead execution of postsecondary access strategy for Years 1-2 of our Program -15%
- Serve as an active member of the Metro Atlanta Program Team and participate in regular region-wide team meetings, stepbacks and retreats
- Regularly track program data for analyses, strategizing, and reporting purposes and analyze for trends
- In collaboration with the Atlanta Program Team and OneGoal National teams, leverage student data, trends, and insights to set strategy and change course when needed
- Plan and execute major events with the Atlanta regional team, including but not limited to annual Student Summit, senior celebrations, field trips, college visits, and classroom guest speakers.

- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- 5+ years of aligned experience with demonstrated results (e.g. experience within teaching, coaching, counseling, or secondary education administration contexts)
- Adult learning design and coaching experience (highly preferred)
- Must be willing to travel in and around the 8 county-Metro Area to spend time in schools; vehicle required
