Salary Range: $52,000 – $56,000 is the hiring salary range (i.e. the range a candidate could be offered to start) for this role.

About OneGoal

 

Despite decades of work and millions of  dollars invested, the degree divide continues to be one of our nation’s most complex and critical injustices, with deep roots in systems of oppression and racism.  Only 22% of students from low-income communities earn a college degree, compared to 67% of their peers from high-income areas. 

COVID-19 further exposed and exacerbated inequity, with communities of color and those in low-income areas impacted at disproportionately high rates. We are looking for individuals to join us in our fight for equity during this extremely critical time.

  • OneGoal has grown from a small afterschool program serving just 32 students in Chicago to a nationwide movement that is serving some 12,500 students in six communities.
  • Our model, honed over 14 years, has three core differentiators: A rigorous, culturally relevant content and experience, cohorts of students who can support each other over the course of three years, and a teacher who supports our most vulnerable students’ long-term ambitions.
  • 88% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 79% of those who enroll persist one year after high school.

The Person

 

As the Manager of Program Innovation (MPI), your mission is to be an integral support for the Chicago Innovation Team (CIT). This role will add critical capacity to our region and organization’s ability to close the Degree Divide by testing ideas that go beyond the scope of our core program. You are responsible for expanding our pilot’s reach through creative logistical support of our outreach and engagement strategy. You are also supporting research and learning by centering students as users to optimize their experiences. Your work will ensure pilots achieve our impact goals through cycles of continuous user-centered improvement.  

 

You will do this by:

  • Summer Hub Marketing, Communications, and Engagement: Support the management, organization, and development of our marketing communications and engagement strategy, ultimately  resulting in double the number of users who are satisfied with our product and services. (40%)
  • Pilot Learning: Deepen our empathy and understanding of our user’s context and experiences by leading user engagement and research initiatives that support our overarching Summer Hub Engagement. Invest and engage early adopters and improve the usability and effectiveness of Summer Hub’s website and chatbot. (30%)
  • Pilot Implementation: Manage execution on self-led creative projects for the Chicago Innovation Team. (20%)

Qualifications:

  • Lived experience of the Fellows we serve (Preferred)
  • Some project management experience
  • Interest or some experience in content creation (making posters, graphics, videos)
  • Interest in narrative communications (storytelling, creative writing)
  • Familiarity with conducting interviews, surveys, focus groups; willingness to learn how to conduct qualitative research
  • Experience, exposure, or appetite for learning about user-centered design (preferred but not required)
  • Strong reading comprehension, synthesis, and analytical skills
