Enrollment Grant FAQs
What is the goal of the Enrollment Grant?
Our goal is to remove some financial barriers to OneGoal Fellow and Alumni enrollment in college or other postsecondary programs. This grant is not a substitute for or equivalent to financial aid provided by colleges or other programs. Fellows and Alumni should complete the FAFSA and applicable state financial aid applications each year.
How much money can I apply for?
Fellows and Alumni can receive up to $750 per semester.* Our aim is to remove some financial barriers to OneGoal Fellow and Alumni enrollment in college or other post secondary programs. This grant is not a substitute for or equivalent to financial aid provided by colleges or other programs.
*We acknowledge postsecondary institutional calendars vary—quarters, semesters, trimesters, terms, etc. The term “semester” in this context is intended to represent two different postsecondary terms. The first semester refers to expenses that occur in the first part of a typical school year (summer/fall). The second refers to expenses that occur in the second part of a typical school year (winter/spring).
When can I apply for funds?
Fellows and Alumni can apply for OneGoal Enrollment Grant funds beginning May 1, 2023.
How do I access the Enrollment Grant application?
OneGoal Fellows and Alumni can access the Enrollment Grant application.
What if I’m part of the Class of 2024?
This grant is not currently available to juniors in high school (the Class of 2024). The Enrollment Grant will be available to this class upon their graduation from high school next year.
If I’ve received an Enrollment Grant from OneGoal in the past, can I apply again?
If a Fellow or Alum has received an Enrollment Grant for a previous semester or year, they may apply again.
If a Fellow or Alum has received the maximum Enrollment Grant offered ($750) for this current semester, they may not apply again until the next semester. If they have not yet received the maximum amount, they may apply again up to the amount that is remaining.
Example:
An applicant learns they can request up to $750 from the Enrollment Grant for the summer/fall. In April, they submit the grant application for $100, to cover books + school supplies. In June, they submit a new grant application for $650, to cover enrollment fees. This individual has reached their $750 request maximum for this term and can no longer apply for another Enrollment Grant until the application for winter/spring term opens.
What is the deadline to apply for the Enrollment Grant?
For the current cycle, the application window will close September 29, 2023 at 11:59 PM Pacific time.
