Houston is the fourth largest city in our country with a quarter of a million students in the Houston Independent School District alone. Today, just 21% of Houston Independent School District students living in low-income communities obtain a postsecondary degree, compared to 67% of students from our nation’s most affluent communities. This is not for lack of ambition or talent, but for lack of opportunity and support.

Thank you to all who attended OneGoal Houston’s 10th Anniversary Celebration! Our community enjoyed a fun-filled and inspiring evening at the Houston Zoo. With your support, we’re boldly entering our next phase of work to ensure that every high school student has access to a postsecondary education.
In Houston, 82% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution and 73% of those persist in their education at the end of the OneGoal program (one year after high school graduation). In order to deliver transformative results for our students, we continue to strengthen our organizational culture, attract and empower diverse, talented staff to lead and learn, invest in innovation, and continue to strengthen our financial health.
