OneGoal Supports the March for Our Lives

CHICAGO (March 23, 2018) — Students should have access to safe learning environments in order to achieve their greatest potential. Instead they are fearing for their lives and schools have become places of trauma. Our teachers are being asked to put their lives on the line. This is not acceptable.

As of earlier this week, there have been 17 school shootings in the United States this year. Quite frankly, that is 17 too many. This Saturday, March 24, thousands of students, families and supporters will gather in Washington and in cities across the country at March for Our Lives demonstrations to demand that action be taken to end gun violence and mass school shootings.

As a national coalition of teachers, students, school leaders and education advocates, OneGoal stands in solidarity with our Fellows and all those who raise their voice to advocate for measures to make our schools safe. We can no longer afford to ignore the issue at hand. The need is urgent and the time is now.
